I have been on the look out/searching for a light, not so heavy but full coverage foundation for so long now. I believe an everyday make up (foundation routine) shouldn’t be full-on, even though many brands claim to protect your skin despite the heavy coverage. It’s not everyday I wake up that I feel like wearing a full face of make up or if I do i want something that will look effortless and natural. In the past I thought one could only get full coverage by wearing only liquid foundation (and then some), not till I was introduced to bareMineral a while back and I’m finally giving it a try.
My search began in December 2013, where I went to different department stores but was I still being told to go for the likes of MAC (not a big fan of MAC make up, but I do like their lipsticks) etc. Then I went to John Lewis, and was approached by a lovely representative from the bareMinerial concession, where I told her that I wanted light but full coverage foundation and she introduced me to the bareMinerials Customisable Get Started Kit which I think is a great value for money as you get 8 full-sized items in the box for £49
Your choice of bareMinerals Foundation (bareMinerals SPF15 Original Foundation in ‘warm tan’)
Prime Time Foundation Primer, size: 15ml (the only small item)
Original Mineral Veil Finishing Powder, size: 2g
Warmth All-Over Face Color, size: 1.5g
Full Flawless Face Brush
Flawless Application Face Brush
Maximum Coverage Concealer Brush
Also in the box is a How-To DVD that shows you “how to Swirl, Tap, Buff your way back to the skin you were born with” (if you don’t know how to already).
I’ve been using this kit for 2 months now, and I tell you it does exactly what it say on the box if not more. It gives a flawless, matte finish look and its applies hassle-free unto the skin leaving my face shine-free through the day (which is a bonus for me as my skin usually gets a bit shiny in my T-zone throughout the day), allowing me to enjoy the sun-kissed glow from the Warmth All Over Face Colour. It can also be built up to achieve whatever coverage suited for the occasion, I usually go for the fairly built as I only want a natural look. I sometimes also use the foundation (bareMinerals SPF15 Original Foundation in ‘warm tan’) by itself without the Primer Time foundation primer when I’m in rush to get out of the house and the foundation works just as well without.
Overall, I highly recommend the bareMinerals Get started Kit to anyone looking to try the brand for the first time, or simply to someone that is looking to try make-up as it is so just simple to use!
What do you think of the bareMinerals Get Started Kit? Have you tried anything from bareMinerals? Do you prefer liquid or powder foundations?
I was going to buy it but their brushes are dreadful so the box wasn’t worth it for me. I just bought the foundation (warm dark) and the mineral veil on their own through the feel unique sale, for £27. I prefer their brightening primer though as the original ‘looks dry’ after application. Overall I find BM very very hit and miss across everything.
